Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my interest in a warehouse operations, inventory control, or supply chain position with your company. I have nearly 20 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, receiving, shipping, loss prevention, and team leadership. I believe my background and work experience make me a strong candidate for this role.
In my current position at BJ’s Wholesale Club, I help lead inventory control and loss prevention operations in a fast-paced warehouse and retail environment. My responsibilities include cycle counts, inventory audits, annual physical inventory, reviewing inventory variances, and helping reduce shrink. I also work with shipping documents, bills of lading, receiving issues, and inventory reports. These experiences have helped me develop strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and leadership abilities.
I also have experience training and coaching team members, making sure safety procedures are followed, and helping improve daily operations. I am comfortable working with WMS systems, RF scanners, forklifts, pallet jacks, and Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access. I am also bilingual in English and Spanish, which helps me communicate with different team members and customers.
I am currently continuing my education at Kean University in Supply Chain Management, and I am excited to grow my career in this field. I would appreciate the opportunity to bring my experience, work ethic, and leadership skills to your company.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my experience can be a good fit for this position.
Sincerely,
Charity A. Santana

MY BIO

My name is Charity A. Santana. I am a college student studying business and management, and I have many years of experience working in warehouse operations, inventory control, loss prevention, customer service, and leadership. My background has taught me that professional growth does not happen all at once. It happens through responsibility, mistakes, learning, and the decision to keep improving.
In my work experience, I have had to communicate with different people, solve problems quickly, stay organized, and support a team in a fast-moving environment. These experiences have helped me understand that leadership is not only about having a title. It is also about being dependable, paying attention, helping others, and making decisions that support the whole team.
As I continue my education, I want to connect what I have learned at work with what I am learning in school. My career goals are focused on business, supply chain, inventory management, and operations. I want to keep building my skills so I can move into higher leadership roles in the future. This portfolio represents my progress as a student and as a professional who is still growing.

WORK SAMPLES

To: Warehouse Operations and Front Door Team
From: Charity A. Santana
Date: June 10, 2026
Subject: Strengthening Team Member Exit Bag Check Procedures
The purpose of this memo is to remind the team about the importance of following the correct bag check procedure when team members leave the building. This may seem like a small daily task, but in warehouse operations and loss prevention, small steps can make a big difference. A procedure only works when everyone understands it, follows it, and takes it seriously.
In my experience, one of the biggest challenges in a busy work environment is consistency. When the store is busy, when people are rushing to leave, or when leaders are focused on other tasks, it can become easy to skip a step or assume someone else handled it. However, bag checks should not be treated as optional. They are part of maintaining a fair, safe, and accountable workplace.
The same way we are expected to follow front door procedures with members, we also need to follow clear procedures with team members. This does not mean we are accusing anyone of doing something wrong. It means we are protecting the business, protecting each other, and making sure the same standard applies to everyone. When rules are followed sometimes but not all the time, it creates confusion. It can also make team members feel that the process is unfair or based on who is working that day.
Going forward, team members should not exit the building without following the proper bag check process. If a team member has a backpack, purse, lunch bag, shopping bag, or any personal item, it should be checked according to company policy before they leave. If there is ever a question about what should be checked or who should complete the check, the team member should ask a manager or Asset Protection partner before leaving.
Supervisors and team leads also have a responsibility to help reinforce this process. A policy cannot be successful if only one person is trying to follow it. Leaders should make sure team members understand the expectation and should correct the process when it is not being followed. This should be done respectfully, but it should also be done clearly.
This procedure is important because it supports loss prevention, reduces shrink, and helps avoid misunderstandings. It also shows that our team is serious about accountability. In warehouse operations, trust is important, but trust also needs structure. A strong procedure does not remove trust; it protects it.
Thank you for helping keep our workplace professional, consistent, and responsible. When everyone follows the same process, we create a stronger team and a better work environment.
